Anton Stashevsky is a volunteer of the Country for Life Foundation, as well as the Angel search and rescue team. He began volunteering long before the 2020 elections, while he was a lifeguard at Angel Lifeguard Unit, and often took part in events to find missing people. 

During the 2020 election campaign, he joined the team of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, traveled with her around the cities of Belarus and helped hold pickets. Collected signatures for alternative presidential candidates. Participated in protests in the first days of August 2020, was immediately detained and convicted under an administrative article. 

After he got out, he understood the scale of the disaster and began to collect food and clothing transfers for those who were illegally imprisoned. From October 2020 until the moment of his arrest under a criminal article, the volunteers of the Country for Life Foundation were able to collect and transfer more than 20 tons of food packages to the pre-trial detention center.

He was detained on July 9, 2021 during a “large-scale KGB operation to clean up radicals.” Anton was charged under Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code (financing the activities of an extremist formation). Anton was transferred to the pre-trial detention center.

Recently, by court order, he received a sentence of eight years in prison.
