A career soldier in the ranks of the National Guard, Colonel Garcia Palomo reportedly requested to be discharged for his disagreement with the policies applied by the national government of Venezuela.
After his departure from the GN, the regime considered him an insurgent, for which he and his family were persecuted.
Before his arrest, his family members were kidnapped and tortured by agents of the regime.
His arrest on January 27, 2019 was carried out by Lieutenant Colonel Gramko Arteaga, accused of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court. After his detention by the DGCIM he was tortured with electricity, beatings, inflammable substances, knives, and hanging.
He is currently kidnapped in the SEBIN center, where since 2019 he has not had a trial or sentence.
García Palomo has suffered constant human rights violations, including the fact that he has been held incommunicado, he has been denied visits, the food supplied by his family are stolen, he lives with 2 people in a cell of 4×4.

Antonio José Ledezma Díaz is a Venezuelan politician and lawyer, who was the Mayor of the Metropolitan District of Caracas until 2015. He has also served as mayor of the Libertador municipality of Caracas on two occasions and governor of the former Federal District. He was twice a Deputy of the former National Congress of Venezuela (current National Assembly) since 1984 and was elected Senator of the Republic in 1994, being the youngest person to be elected to that position.
On November 17, 2017, having spent 1,002 days in detention, Antonio Ledezma fled Venezuela; He fled from house arrest and after fifteen hours of traveling by land, he crossed the Simón Bolívar international bridge, thus arriving in Cúcuta (Colombia), where he carried out the corresponding immigration procedures and gave a press conference, to later travel to Spain. 31 the country in which he currently resides, having requested political asylum on November 24 of that same year.
